Reflection assignment 1

Reflection is vital in life to enhance one’s learning. As the saying goes, lifelong learning. We have to reflect everything we did and learn from our mistakes in order to improve ourselves.

I have enrolled in South Australian Matriculation (SAM) and have taken five subjects, which are Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and ESL. SAM focuses on assignments and projects, which has trained me well in researching, analyzing and solving problems. These subjects have given me the foundation in science and helped me in thinking reasonably, identifying errors and come up with solutions. I did the assignments by starting it far before the deadline because I know that work cannot be done well in last minute. Other than that, I have been chosen to be the president of dance club in college this year. I conducted many meetings and communicated with my board of directors. Communication is a very important skill that everyone needs to have so that everything can be done well. Moreover, it is very important as communication is a direct way that leads to unity as the saying goes, together is power.

This year is the year to prepare to go on a university. Hence it is not easy. I have met some problems in assignments. Firstly, the issue investigation of each subject took a long time for me to think of the title. It is mainly because of my passionate in each subject. Luckily, I was heped by many teachers and my hardships are overcome. Secondly, the time for assignments, studies and extracurricular activities is hard to balance. As a president of dance club, I conducted meetings before the day of an event. The hardships I met were the way to communicate with team mates and to cooperate with them. Moreover, I found my confidence to bring a team to achieve goal as team members would not follow a leader with low self-esteem and lack of direction.

During the year in college, I have learnt to find my passion in each subject so that I can generate more ideas when writing a report because passion is important as it can give one motivation. As SAM does not only focus on assignments but also studies, I learnt to make a time table for myself. Thus I have self-discipline and good time management. I have learnt a lesson by making back up for every update of my assignments. I lost my pen drive before submitting my lab report this year. This experience told me to do back up every time. Moreover, I have learnt to become a good team leader by organizing events and taking care a team in my high school and I brought these abilities to college. I sharpen my leadership skills by being a president of dance club. I learnt to gain more self-confidence and never give up of myself by always believing that I can bring my house to achieve goal. I communicate and work hard in team at the starting of the year. However, all the events can be run out smoothly after these hardships are overcome.

I have learnt to have a good time management, communication and study independently. I have sharpened my interpersonal and intrapersonal skills throughout the year of enrolling in SAM in college. This year have taught me a lot about the way to write a good report by doing citations. I will apply what I have learnt this year in my future.
